Fantastic Infotainment Technology

A useful 8-inch infotainment system lets you get information, stay in touch with people, and entertain yourself, all using voice commands. The system has AM/FM radio and SiriusXM with 360L, letting you enjoy lots of music and talk. You can also connect your smartphone to the SYNC 4 infotainment system and access podcasts, audiobooks, and music apps that are on your phone. Voice commands let you start playing media hands-free.

Voice commands also let you answer calls, make calls, listen to your texts, send texts, access your calendar, and get directions to your destination. You can use all kinds of navigation apps on your phone via the infotainment system, including Apple Maps and Google Maps.

Incredible Driver Assistance Features

The driver assistance features really show off Ford’s innovation. They let your car monitor your position in your lane and warn you if you’re drifting out of it. The Escape can monitor your blind spot and let you know if there’s something in it. The vehicle can detect if there’s a car about to cross your path while you’re backing up, and it’ll warn you about the issue.

That’s just scraping the surface of everything the driver assistance features can do, and you can turn them on and off on your driver information display.

Appealing Engine Options

The Escape has a 1.5-liter three-cylinder base engine that produces 181 horsepower. It delivers a relaxed performance, contributing to the vehicle’s comfortable ride quality. The optional turbocharged 2-liter engine is a little more powerful, producing 250 horsepower. It offers quicker acceleration and is exclusively available on AWD Escape models. The turbocharged engine is the one you need if you want the strongest Escape possible for towing, too.

If you’re a fan of hybrid powertrains, then consider the 2.5-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid option. It produces 163 horsepower.

Space and Strength

The Escape has plenty of space for luggage; it has a maximum cargo volume of 65.4 cubic feet. You can use this space as long as you’re not traveling with anybody in the back, as you have to fold down the back row to access this space. If you’re traveling with the back row in place, then you can use the 37.5 cubic feet of space behind it for your luggage. If you need to transport anything extra large or heavy, then hitch it up. The Escape tows up to 3,500 pounds.
