This unique program blends classroom learning with on-the-job training, creating highly skilled technicians ready to succeed in today’s industry. In the photo we shared, you’ll see one of our own Technician Interns from Steet Ponte Ford, who is also a student in the ASSET program, alongside Professor Dan Akers from SUNY Morrisville. It’s always rewarding to see students gaining knowledge and experience that will help them build long, successful careers. We’re so happy we could provide this tool to help enhance their education and training. Is Ford American Made? A Look at Ford's Heritage and Manufacturing

Ford has long been known as one of the leading American automakers, with a rich history of innovation and quality. But what does it truly mean when people refer to Ford as "American made"? The company has deep roots in the United States, but like many major manufacturers, Ford's production is a global affair. In this blog, we will explore the origins of Ford, its manufacturing processes, and the commitment to American jobs and communities that still defines the brand today. A Legacy of American Innovation Ford Motor Company was founded in 1903 by Henry Ford, and its influence on American automotive history is undeniable. The company revolutionized manufacturing with the introduction of the assembly line, making automobiles more affordable and accessible to the average American. The Ford Model T, produced from 1908 to 1927, is one of the most iconic vehicles in American history and played a significant role in the automobile's mass adoption. As a company, Ford has continuously championed American innovation. Over the years, it has developed and produced numerous vehicles that have defined the American automotive industry. From muscle cars like the Ford Mustang to full-size trucks like the Ford F-150, Ford has created vehicles that embody the spirit of the American consumer. Today, Ford continues to produce a wide range of vehicles, including SUVs, trucks, and cars, that cater to American tastes and lifestyles. However, many people still wonder: is Ford truly "American made," or is its production more global? more Ford's U.S. Manufacturing Presence While Ford has expanded its operations worldwide, the company continues to maintain a strong manufacturing presence in the United States. In fact, Ford has more manufacturing facilities in the U.S. than any other automaker. The company operates dozens of plants across the country, employing thousands of American workers. Ford's commitment to U.S. production is part of its strategy to support the American economy and maintain its legacy as an iconic American brand. Ford's U.S. plants produce many of its most popular vehicles, including the Ford F-Series trucks, which are built at Ford's truck plant in Michigan. The Ford Mustang is produced in Michigan as well, and several of Ford's SUVs, such as the Ford Explorer and the Ford Edge, are manufactured in various U.S. facilities. These plants are a testament to Ford's dedication to American craftsmanship and the American worker. Global Operations and Supply Chains While Ford does produce a significant number of vehicles in the United States, it is also a global company with manufacturing facilities around the world. Ford has plants in countries such as Canada, Mexico, China, and India, where it produces vehicles for local markets and international export. Like many global manufacturers, Ford has integrated a worldwide supply chain to source components and materials from different countries. This is particularly evident in the production of some vehicles, where parts may come from various international suppliers. Despite this global reach, Ford continues to emphasize the importance of American manufacturing and American jobs. The company has invested heavily in U.S.-based manufacturing, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) sector, where it is striving to build a more sustainable future for American workers. Supporting American Jobs and Communities One of Ford's primary goals is to ensure that its U.S. operations provide meaningful employment and contribute to the growth of American communities. Ford has invested billions of dollars in U.S. manufacturing plants, improving their capabilities and creating thousands of jobs in the process. These investments are not just about producing cars—they're about strengthening the U.S. economy and creating a better future for American workers. In addition to its manufacturing facilities, Ford also works closely with suppliers and dealerships across the country. By sourcing materials and components from U.S.-based suppliers and supporting its vast network of dealerships, Ford ensures that it is contributing to American job growth at every level of the business. Ford’s commitment to American jobs extends beyond just assembly line workers. The company employs engineers, designers, and researchers at its U.S.-based facilities, ensuring that the innovation behind Ford vehicles remains deeply rooted in the American workforce. Ford’s Focus on the Future Looking ahead, Ford remains dedicated to expanding its American manufacturing base and producing vehicles that meet the needs of today’s consumers. The company is investing heavily in electric vehicles, with plans to produce fully electric versions of many of its most iconic vehicles, such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and the all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E. These efforts will only increase Ford’s manufacturing presence in the United States, creating more jobs and fostering innovation in the country’s automotive industry. Ford’s focus on sustainability and clean energy is also a reflection of its commitment to American values. By transitioning to electric vehicles and implementing eco-friendly manufacturing practices, Ford is working to ensure that the automotive industry remains an integral part of the American economy for years to come. Is the Ford F-150 American Made? Many of Ford’s vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, are often considered to be quintessentially American. Built at plants in Michigan and other locations across the U.S., the F-150 remains one of the best-selling trucks in America, and it’s made by American workers. Ford’s dedication to keeping production in the U.S. ensures that these iconic vehicles are not only American in name but also in origin. Final Thoughts Ford’s commitment to American manufacturing is evident in every aspect of its business. While the company does operate globally, its heart remains in the U.S. Ford’s vehicles are made by American workers, and the company continues to invest in U.S. manufacturing to support American jobs and communities. Whether it’s through the production of the legendary Ford F-150 or the development of new, eco-friendly electric vehicles, Ford remains an integral part of the American automotive industry. Ford vehicles are American-made in more ways than one. From the assembly line to the engineers who design the cars, Ford continues to lead the way in U.S. automotive manufacturing. So, when you drive a Ford, you're not just driving a car—you’re supporting American innovation, American jobs, and the legacy of one of the most iconic brands in automotive history.

The Steet family has proudly supported the Children’s Miracle Network since 1989. This national nonprofit works to raise funds for local children's hospitals to help provide critical treatments, equipment, and services to children in need—ensuring that kids across the region have access to the best possible care, close to home. We extend our deepest thanks to Scott and Kelly Grates for organizing such a meaningful and well-executed event, and to everyone who came out to support the cause. We’re already looking forward to next year!
